On February 28, 1977, Kansa Corporation opened its doors at 2 South Commercial
in Emporia, Kansas with Jerry Waddell, Ron Swint, and John Mast as founders of the corporation. All three of these
individuals were involved in the development, manufacturing and/or sale of the newspaper "Stuffer" at
Didde Graphics.
Kansa now has a complete line of mailroom equipment. New models of equipment with larger and faster
capabilities have been introduced. These new models have allowed Kansa to expand its market
into larger newspapers and commercial printers. A steady increase in sales and the promise of future
growth necessitated several facility expansions. Additional expansions were required in 1994 and again
in 1999. The original manufacturing plant of 8,700 square feet has grown to 68,000 square feet and is
located in Industrial Park II in Emporia, Kansas.On January 1, 1989, Kansa was purchased by Baldwin Technology Inc., 12 Commerce Drive, Shelton Connecticut.
On Oct. 10, 2002, Kansa Technology, LLC announced that it had purchased the assets of Baldwin Kansa Corporation. Two of the three original owners, Ron Swint and Jerry Waddell, along with Vektek, Inc., purchased the assets belonging to the original Kansa product line from Baldwin Kansa Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Baldwin Technology, Inc.
Ron and Jerry are looking forward to working with new and existing Kansa customers and continuing to offer equipment solutions to the needs of mailroom operations. They are also pleased with the newspaper industry's acceptance of the recently introduced Kansa Twister Multi-Feeder to run with circular and inline type inserters.
Kansa Technology LLC will continue to serve its customers with quality, efficient mailroom equipment from the current address of 3700 Oakes Drive in Emporia, Kansas. Kansa Technology, LLC has its own research and development department and has received numerous patents. Kansa equipment has been installed throughout the world.
